The Green Key

The GREEN KEY (previously known as the Environment Barometer), the quality mark for environmentally-friendly companies in the tourism and recreational sector, is becoming more and more a symbol based on which you can recognise quality companies: More and more camp sites have this quality mark inside and outside Europe. Camp sites that have a Green Key operate whilst fully aware of how important the environment and nature are. This conscious attitude guarantees guests that they will have a comfortable base for their holiday at a high-quality recreational company in beautiful natural surroundings.

A camp site who has been awarded the Green Key has done more than what legislation and regulations demand. The camp site will have made different environmental investments to reduce waste, noise and water and energy consumption. These are mandatory measures. In addition, a number of non-mandatory environmental measures will have also been implemented. The Green Key has three levels: bronze, silver and gold. The higher the level, the more non-mandatory environmental measures the camp site will have implemented.
Camp site De Pekelinge has been awarded the golden Green Key in 2010. This is the same as being awarded an environmental quality mark.
