Welcome to Oostkapelle
Oostkapelle is a natural, family-friendly seaside resort, situated in the west of Walcheren in the province of Zeeland. Oostkapelle offers a unique combination of beautiful wide beaches and nature reserve De Mantelinge, surrounded by a green agricultural countryside. This peaceful environment enables you to enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside, to make special bicycle trips through the beautiful Walcheren scenery and to relax on one of the best beaches in the Netherlands.
In addition to our beaches being awarded the blue flag, our beaches were the only Dutch beaches listed in the German newspaper Das Bilt in the top 10 beaches of Europe.
MiddelburgThe capital of Zeeland is situated at 10 kilometres from Oostkapelle. Middelburg can be rightly referred to as a city of monuments and historic buildings. Here you can find no fewer than 1100 large and small monuments and buildings still breathing the atmosphere of a rich past. The stately abbey, the impressive town hall and the beautiful facades of merchant houses and storehouses are just a few tasters of its past. Middelburg further offers a busy market with lots of outdoor cafes and an extensive shopping centre. In brief, something for everyone! VlissingenVlissingen is a maritime city at the Westerschelde Estuary and provides acces to the North Sea. The atmosphere in Vlissingen is partly determined by ship movements and container loading activities in the roadstead in front of the boulevards, the busyness of its ports, merchants shipping and the yachts in the Medieval fishing port. But also by the Arsenaal theatre and its wide variety of attractions, the shopping centre arcade and the constant play of wind, water and clouds....All this leaves a particularly salty mark on Vlissingen. VeereVeere is one of the most surprising towns in Zeeland, a dream of past lives. It is a small town featuring a combination of a still recognisable grand past, current cosiness and the vicinity of the always fascinating sea. At the Kaai, the marina and on the Market, you will find merchant houses and storehouses showing their step gables, funnel-shaped gables, cornice gables and bell-shaped gables. Many of the house names and facades tell about past trades and products and of the countries and places people set sail to.
