Wine Farm De Catharinahoeve

A warm welcome to Wine Farm and Estate De Catharinahoeve in the polders of Waterlandkerkje, in the heart of West Zeelandic Flanders.

Hear our unique story: how, under the Zeeland sun, in Zeeland’s sea clay and touched by the salty sea breeze, we grow grapes and other fruit to make wines, jams and juices with a unique Zeelandic Flemish character. Come and experience it for yourself!

You’ll find us in the ELMARE tasting room at the back of the farm woods near the meadows. This is where our tours start and where our wine tastings are held. For guests who prefer not to drink alcohol, there are of course our fruit juices to taste!

We offer our products under the name ELMARE. This was once a sea inlet of a larger side branch of the Honte, or Western Scheldt, which used to divide the region into small islands (now farmland surrounded by small dykes). What remains today is a watercourse that runs across the estate and has deposited light sea clay rich in lime.

In the ELMARE tasting room or on the terrace, you can get to know all our ELMARE products, which carry the ZEKER ZEEUWS quality label. But… the menu also features a big farmhouse mug of coffee with homemade apple pie, among other treats.

And how about a lovely picnic or a walk with our mini donkeys? These can also be booked in advance. The terrace is open during the season from May to October.
