About the location
Camping de Holterberg is located in Holten, on the southern slope of the Holterberg hill and right on the edge of De Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. From the campsite you can walk or cycle straight into nature, the area is known for its considerable elevation differences and sweeping views, and is popular among walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers thanks to its junction-based route network. The campsite also sits on the border of Salland and Twente, along both the Pieterpad and Marskramerpad long-distance trails. About 800 metres away lies the Holten Canadian War Cemetery, the resting place of 1,394 soldiers who died during the liberation of the north and east of the Netherlands. A place where nature, peace and history come together.
