Meet the small but nice team of Camping de Meulinge
Camping de Meulinge is what you would call a real family business, run by the Vermeulen family.
Together with our small team we hope to give you an awesome vacation!
Emmy
Emmy is Marleen's niece and the little sister of Sasja, she is also the first point of contact at reception. You will also see Emmy most often at reception, as she works on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. She takes care of most of the day-to-day things.
Emmy recently studied technical business administration in Eindhoven and is therefore blessed with a technical eye and logistical understanding. But she didn't want to work permanently in the technical and logistical world and is now switching to camping life! Like Marleen and Sasja, she has spent years helping out at the family-run De Pekelinge campsite, which suits her very well.
Emmy is very sporty and enjoys cycling and padel.
Sasja
Sasja is Emmy's older sister and Marleen's other niece. Sasja usually works Wednesdays at the reception. Behind the scenes, she also picks up various tasks from home.
Sasja studied business economics and is therefore good with numbers. Sasja, too, already worked at the family business Camping De Pekelinge and therefore brings -just like Emmy- the necessary experience with her.
Sasja is also sporty; she plays hockey, padel and boxing. She also has an extensive social life, so Sasja is always short of time.
Marleen
Although Marleen studied psychology and communication science long ago, the camping industry is not foreign to her, as her parents ran Camping de Pekelinge in Oostkapelle. Marleen has been a businesswoman at Camping de Meulinge since 2006, but as of 2024 she only works two days a week at the reception. She also coordinates the children's farm, team outings and picks up marketing together with Sasja.
On her days off, she likes to go cycling and drinking along the coast. In the winter months, Marleen often travels far afield and likes to scuba dive to discover the underwater world.
Jordy
Jordy is our golden force in the technical department. Not only does he make sure the grounds look neat and tidy, he also picks up new projects during the winter months. Jordy is a true all-rounder, because whether it's earthwork, electricity, tiling, carpentry or all kinds of malfunctions: Jordy can do it all.
In his free time, Jordy enjoys 4 x 4 off-road driving, so he likes a little action.
Greetje
Greetje has worked at the campsite for more than 30 years and has held numerous positions there. Now she is mainly concerned with the charity shop. In case of an emergency colleagues and guests can always call on her. In her spare time, too, she can often be found at the campsite. Together with some friends, she organises flea markets, bakes local dishes and plays live music now and then. The proceeds are always donated to good causes in the region.
Marcin
The cleaning is in the hands of Marcin.
Marcin is a self-employed and hardworking ZZP'er and always on the go, so even in the evenings you often see him out and about helping camping guests and other business owners in the area.
Jody en Claudia
Camping de Meulinge and Play Farm Pierewiet belong together.
But since 2018, the operation of the play farm is entirely in the hands of Jody and Claudia. They rent the play farm and are thus their own boss. And as real hospitality people at heart, they do this just fine. Of course there is intensive consultation with the campsite, but they themselves are 100% responsible for various daily matters such as opening hours, assortment, issuing mini golf and craft packages, entrance fees and supervision.
Nico
You can spot Nico in various places around the campsite. He works both on the grounds and at the reception, and he really enjoys this variety. Just like his mother Greetje, Nico is sociable and enjoys interacting with people, but he also likes working with his hands. That’s why the combination of outdoor work and helping guests at the reception suits him so well.
Yvonne
Our dear Yvonne has been baking bread rolls for us since 2021. Yvonne originally trained as a dental assistant. But in 2005, she fell in love with a campsite owner in Cadzand and moved to Zeeuws Vlaanderen, where she entered the camping business. The campsite owner has since sold his business, but Yvonne continues to enjoy baking bread rolls for you at our campsite.
