Nature Events

Several times a year beautiful nature events take place.
Every other year (in the odd-numbered years), Lamb Day is held on Easter Sunday. On this day, visitors can walk through the forest to the sheepfold to watch the proud (sheep) mothers and their newborn lambs. Explanations about the flock and in particular the lambs will be given by Stichting het Schaap and Staatsbosbeheer. Children can take a closer look at the lambs and, of course, pet them. This event takes place in the State Forests adjacent to the campsite.
On the 2nd Sunday in June, the annual Sheep Shearing Festival takes place. Of course the sheep are sheared, but there are several events such as visiting various market stalls, baking sandwiches, herding sheep with dogs, petting zoo, climbing course etc.
Both nature events are well worth visiting during your vacation! They take place, of course, in the state forests right next to the campsite. Walking from the campsite you can visit both events.
Several times a year there are different types of walks to be taken under the guidance of an IVN guide. Discover nature and at the same time receive nice background information about the beautiful surroundings.
During the vacation periods you can go on a walk with a forester of the Forestry Commission. He will not only show you the beautiful surroundings, but at the same time you will learn more about the flora and fauna.
