About the location
Camping Westhove is located on Walcheren, about 1.5 kilometres from Domburg, the oldest seaside resort in Zeeland. Behind the dunes you'll find a wide white sandy beach with characteristic groynes and colourful beach huts, which has carried the Blue Flag for excellent water quality for years. Domburg is also known as one of the best wave-surfing spots in the Netherlands, thanks to its relatively high waves; Surfschool Domburg safely teaches beginners to surf, skimboard, raft, canoe and paddleboard. Golf lovers can play a round at Domburgsche Golfclub, one of the oldest golf courses in the Netherlands (1914), beautifully set in the dunes with sea views.
Close to the campsite, between Oostkapelle and Domburg, lies the medieval Westhove Castle in the De Manteling van Walcheren nature reserve, with walking routes through dunes and forest and the Terra Maris museum in the former Orangery. The cosy centre of Domburg and towns such as Middelburg, Veere and Goes are also within easy reach. A place where beach, nature and Zeeland history come together.
