A green iguana rustles through the green tree crown, dwarf caimans lurk form behind the bush and a tarantula might just land on your hand..... wow, that has to be thrilling. Or what about a snake around your neck. Which of you is bravest?
Is this all a bit too scary? Of course you can observe our animals from a distance as well. From colourful chameleons to nosy monkeys and armadillos. From toucans to poison frogs and butterflies in the most spectacular colours. The animal friends Berkenhof Tropical Zoo can rightly be called a colourful group.
In Berkenhof's Restaurant you can unwind from your exciting jungle adventures, while enjoying a drink and a snack. Berkenhof's Restaurant, in combination with a visit to the Tropical Zoo, is also the perfect recipe for a unique family or company outing!
The Nature school
At Berkenhof Nature school you can emerge as a real naturalist.
Our animal caretakers explain about a certain animal a number of times per day, for instance a snake, spider or lizard. If you're lucky you get to hold it for a bit! Exciting!
The fossil mine
Go underground into the fossil mine and discover mammoths, sable toothed tigers and dinos.
Brrrrr that must have been a horrible time with those giants creeping around.
Dino Expo
After an exciting journey through the fossil Mine, you suddenly find yourself surrounded by enormous dinos.
From Stegosaurus to the gigantic Tyrannosaurus Rex. Do you have the courage to have your photo taken with them? For the children an exciting Prehistory scavenger hunt has been organised.
Kids jungle and Buitenspeelbos (recreational woods)
The kids can have a wonderful time at the indoor Kids jungle and the Buitenspeelbos. Two beautiful natural playing environments where children can climb, scramble, splash, mess around with sand and lots more jungle fun activities. The children imagine themselves being a real Indiana Jones for a day. Tip! It would be a good idea to bring clean clothes and a towel. Obviously we are also a great destination for super exciting children's parties and school trips.
