City Emmen

Historical
Avisit to Drenthe is not complete without having seen the dolmens. In Emmen, you can combine this with a visit to the Nabershof, a Saxon farm from 1861. The small area directly behind the farm accommodates the 40 metre long dolmen D43, better known as the Langgraf (long grave).

Go on an adventure at Wildlands Adventure Zoo! Find the polar bears in the icy polar region Nortica, sail between the elephants and monkeys in the tropical jungle Jungola, and race through the savannah of Serenga in a safari truck. Great for visitors of all ages.

Nature
The Rensenpark is situated at the location of the former Dierenpark Emmen (Emmen zoo). Although it does not exist anymore, the nature area remained - and the park was recently entirely renovated. You can roam along the paths for hours and enjoy the surrounding or visit the urban farm with your children to cuddle with the animals. Address: Hoofdstraat 18
Gastronomy
Next to the entrance of the Rensenpark, on the Hoofdstraat, you can enjoy a delicious lunch, dinner and/or drinks in the monumental building the Drommedaar. Do you want to sit at the front in the brasserie, or would you rather go to the back, to the wine bar or the restaurant? One thing is certain: you won't leave this place with an empty stomach.

Shopping
Everything going wrong again today? The shopping centre De Weiert has everything a shopaholic's heart desires. It is among the largest shopping centres in the Netherlands. All large chains are represented here, in addition to a number of smaller shops. Would you rather see something more authentic? Then go to the Warenmarkt, on the Marktplein, every Friday, to browse among the 100+ stalls. There's something for everyone!
